These may involve engagement with communities of place or interest and a sharing of ‘expert’ and ‘lay’ knowledge.

Fold and Rise, (Maeve Collins and Julie Griffiths) the ongoing durational project that featured as part of Culture Night in Ennistymon, will join other socially engaged art practitioners for a day of workshops, games, presentations, investigations, conversations, reading groups, tea parties and Community Soup Making.

TRASNA IV – TRASNA IV – TRASNA IV – TRASNA IV

Dear Artists and Art Lovers,

In November we will hold our fourth Trasna exhibition “Trasna IV” in the main gallery of the Courthouse.

This is our annual exhibition which allows both established and emerging artists to show their work within the same venue.

The official opening will be on Thursday 28th November with a light hearted, silent auction.

The reserve price on each piece will be €40 of which 25% of the selling price will be donated to the running costs of the gallery and the remainder to the artist.

We will have an open theme and cordially invite all artists, both established and emerging to submit a maximum of 3 artworks through our open submission which is free.

In the last few years we have had a great response to this exhibition which featured local, national and international artists.

So if anyone out there is interested in submitting A5 sized artworks or if you know of an artist who would like to submit please encourage them to do so.

Submissions from artists should be a maximum postcard size of 20 x 15 cm (A5) in any medium. Or sculptural / 3D pieces in any medium of no more then 20 x 20 x 20 cm.

Surfaces and Depths

Solo exhibition in Brittany of Co Clare Artist Sara Foust.

Exhibition celebrates 21 years of twinning between Lahinch and Arzon.

Paintings depict Co Clare coastline and fishing port of Liscannor.clip_image002

“Surfaces and Depths”, An exhibition of new paintings by Co Clare artist Sara Foust will be launched on 6 September in Arzon, Brittany, France. The paintings capture the changeable moods of the Atlantic as it breaks on Ireland’s western shore and the boats of the independent fishermen of Liscannor.

This exhibition celebrates 21 years of the twinning of Lahinch, Co Clare with Arzon, Brittany.  The two communities have grown close over the decades and this exhibition emphasizes the maritime culture they share in addition to their celtic links.

The gallery, Moulin de Pencastel, is an ancient mill located on the Gulf of Morbihan, on the Rhuys peninsula. The building has been converted to a gallery and is modeled on the successful Courthouse Gallery and Studios in Ennistymon, Co Clare.

‘Surfaces and Depths’, artist Sara Foust’s exhibition of paintings, will be launched by Arzon Mayor Gérard Labove at a reception hosted by the Arzon-Lahinch Twinning committee on 6 September.  The exhibition will run from 6 September to 28 September 2013 at the gallery Moulin de Pencastel in Arzon, Brittany, France.

For More information, contact Sara Foust at sarafoust@yahoo.com
