Jaskane instruments

Jaskane Café Trio showcases an eclectic and diverse range of international café style or ‘chamber folk’ music. The trio brings a unique blend of violin, oboe and guitar to a repertoire ranging from Russian folk dances to Argentinian tangos; iconic film themes to contemporary Irish folk. The trio’s original arrangements and harmonisations provide an evocative experience for the listener.

Since forming in the summer of 2013, Jaskane Café Trio has been building up a steady following through performances in intimate venues around Clare. The trio have also performed live on Newstalk’s Pat Kenny Show and released their debut album ‘Jaskane Café Trio Live’.The performers in Jaskane Café Trio have a diverse range of influences. Karen Kelly plays classical violin, her performances including orchestral works, chamber music and a particular love for all tangos argentinian. Oboist Etain McCooey has developed a uniquely ‘Irish’ oboe style, combining her classical oboe training with her knowledge of Irish whistle style and technique; Jason Noone is a guitarist and producer with a background in rock, blues and improvisation.
