Jeremy Bakker is our first International Artist in Residence

We are delighted to announce that Jeremy Bakker (Australia) is the selected artist for the inaugural International Artist Residency at The Courthouse Gallery and Studios this summer, and will be joining us from 6th July for eight weeks.

Based in Melbourne, Bakker works across a range of media - drawing, object, installation and photography. Bakker's practice explores the tensions between the fragmentary and the whole, the micro and the macro, the momentary and the enduring, and the impossible desire to hold on to what is fleeting and transitory. The artist has previously participated in projects in Australia, Japan, Thailand, the Netherlands and Austria.

He will be in residence at the Gallery throughout July and August, and will give a public talk about his practice during his stay. www.jeremybakker.com
