Come join us for Culture Night 2021 at The Courthouse Gallery & Studios for a late opening of our exhibitions Ode to the Soft Centre by Alan Magee and Buttered Up by Áine Philips. Our Culture Night will have a little bit of something for everyone! We will host a performance of Buttered Up by Áine Philips in the Red Couch Gallery from 5 pm and a poetry and musical event from 7:30, An phéist ag an gcarn: Words and Tunes rooted in the culture of the Kingdom of Corcomroe, County Clare by Danny Burke, Luogh, and Martha O’Brien in the main gallery. Come along on the night and enjoy an array of events and of course a chance to colour with all the family!

5 – 6:30 pm: Performance by Áine Philips in The Red Couch Gallery.

7:30 pm: An phéist ag an gcarn: Words and Tunes rooted in the culture of the Kingdom of Corcomroe, County Clare.

Danny Burke, Luogh, and Martha O’Brien, Curraghodea, collaborate to play their own tunes and songs and discuss their inspirations.
Danny: immersion in the culture of the area formerly the Kingdom of Corcomroe. And the wider world too. Influences include memory, legend, archaeology, wildlife and the loss of biodiversity, and the interplay of culture and ecology in both this area of North Clare, and further afield.
Martha's inspiration lies in the colourful characters and culture of North Clare. The kaleidoscopic human nature of the locale is a constant source of inspiration.

Prebooking is essential for the event at 7:30 as we have a limited capacity.
