Both galleries exhibit work by local, national and international artists with a year long programme of free exhibitions, events and subsidised workshops. The Red Couch Gallery also acts as a project space for the studio members, emerging artists and an experimental space. Exhibitions are selected by the curator and through an open call process and is programmed up to 2 years in advance, with additional workshops and programming to support the exhibitions programme. The exhibitions programme includes a range of annual recurring exhibitions co-organised with local interest groups, such as the Annual QQI, The North Clare Historical Society Exhibition (Summer) and Trasna Winter market exhibition. This supports the Courthouse Galleries aim to provide a platform for heritage and community organisations to engage with a visual arts gallery.
The Gallery is also available for rent, both the main space and function room in order to cover core costs, we have built up a sustainable clientele who offer workshops and events to the region such as:
