MERAKI, the 2018 PLC FETAC Art end of year exhibition runs from 20th - 28th April
The exhibition will be officially opened on Thursday April 23 at 7.30pm by Clare Arts Officer Siobhan Mulcahy.

The Post Leaving Cert courses in Ennistymon Vocational School comprise of a one year multi-disciplinary art programme leading to a FETAC Level 5 Award and a more advanced one year art programme culminating in a FETAC Level 6 Art Award. Students range from school leavers to mature applicants and come from many backgrounds and nationalities.
The course is suitable for those who wish to explore their creativity or pursue an independent art career. Equally the course is designed for people who wish to pursue art at a third level institution and intend to create a portfolio of work.
The exhibition will display a selection of work from the students in a variety of media including painting, sculpture and ceramics.

The Courthouse Gallery is open from 12 – 4 pm, Tuesday to Saturday.Closed on Sunday and Monday.
Artist Biographies
Sam Bartlett
Sam’s originally from England and has lived in Ireland, locally, for many years. She studied Art at level 5 last year and continued to level 6 this year. She is inspired by her late Aunty Pauline who was a gifted artist with whom she shares her passion for art.
Siobhán Bennis
Siobhán was raised and still lives in Lahinch, Co Clare. She has always been a big fan of nature and enjoys exploring the changes and differences that nature gives.
Yvonne Butterfield
Yvonne is new to exploring the arts. She is inspired by her love of living by the ocean and the nature of the underwater world.
John Connole
John lives in Ballyvaughan. He likes all kinds of music and dancing, he enjoys looking at old castles and ancient buildings. He likes holidays on small islands which are old fashioned and enjoyable.
Dean Costello
Dean’s passions are archery, fashion and crazy designs. He also likes islands and palm trees and his work reflects his hobbies.
Mairead McInerney Stapleton
Mairead’s inspiration for this year is her brother Sean, to whom her work is also dedicated. Being in the Ennistymon School of Art near the ocean gives her inspiration to create her pieces. This closeness reflects in her work. She finds her journey in Art to be an absolute pleasure.
Tina O Connell
Tina is from Lisdoonvarna, Co Clare. She only started painting 3 years ago by chance, so she’s doing this course to learn more About Art and her capabilities. Tina’s theme for the year has been “Rope – how rope can take lives and also save lives”. Having been in the coastguard for many years and her father coming from a fishing background, this theme has been quite close to Tina’s heart.
Edel O'Reilly
Edel is from Ennistymon. She started this course completing level 5 last year. She is now studying for level 6 and really enjoying it. She gets her inspiration from the beautiful plants in her surroundings.
