Lá Sos: A Creative Retreat at The Courthouse Gallery & Studios
Lá Sos is an exciting new initiative by The Courthouse Gallery & Studios designed to offer artists, creatives, poets, etc residing and working in Co. Clare a unique opportunity to take a break from their regular studio or workspace and immerse themselves in a fresh environment. Inspired by the success of "Gap Day" organised by Lian Bell, Mermaid Arts Centre, and supported by The Arts Council of Ireland, which we recently participated in by hosting an artist, we aim to provide an exclusive space for artists to rejuvenate their creative spirit.
We cordially invite artists who are currently based in Co. Clare to make use of our Workshop Studio, which will be available on selected days. Sometimes, all you need is a change of scenery to ignite your artistic inspiration, and we want to facilitate that for you. The Workshop Studio can serve as your sanctuary away from the everyday hustle, enabling you to explore Ennistymon's charm and work within a fresh and invigorating environment.
The Lá Sos program allows for up to two one-day residencies per month, subject to the availability of the space. Please note that the Workshop Studio is rented out for regular events, public workshops, and meetings. Therefore, availability may vary.
During your retreat at Lá Sos, the Workshop Studio can be utilized as a private studio space, a meeting place, or a canvas to experiment with new artwork or ideas. It offers you a clean, empty space where you can focus solely on your creative endeavors, engage in writing or deep contemplation, or simply let your imagination roam free.
However, it's important to note that the Workshop Studio cannot be used for hosting public events or conducting paid workshops. Its primary purpose is to provide a tranquil and inspiring setting exclusively for the artists-in-residence.
